The CBI Special Court, on Tuesday, rejected a CBI petition seeking an extension of custody of Sunil Reddy, an accused in the Emaar case.
The court gave these directions when CBI sleuths produced Sunil Reddy in court after the end of his two-and-half days custody on Tuesday.
He was later remanded to judicial custody till 1 February, and sent to Chanchalguda Central Jail.
The CBI had filed a petition, seeking an extension of his custody by one more week. However, the petition was rejected by the court.
With this, the investigation agency has now decided to move a petition in the High Court, seeking his custody.
Earlier, the investigating agency had sought 15 days' custody to quiz Sunil Reddy on various Emaar deals. However, the court allowed custody of only two-and-half days.
The CBI argued that Sunil Reddy needs to be questioned about the whereabouts of money collected from T Ranga Rao, director of Stylish Homes Private Limited, for the villas of the Emaar-APIIC Township.
Meanwhile, CBI officials conducted medical tests on tainted IAS officer B P Acharya, who was
arrested on Monday in connection with the Emaar case, at Dilkusha Guest House. Doctors reportedly stated that B P Acharya was weak, and advised him to take frequent doses pf glucose. (INN)
