Sultan Bazar Traders Down Shutters Protesting Metro

Traders in Sultan Bazar observed a bandh on Friday demanding that the State government change the route of the Hyderabad Metro Rail, which goes right through Sultan Bazar.

Businesses and shops in Sultan Bazar remained closed. The traders pasted posters like "Save Sultan Bazar" in front of every shop.

The shop owners have intensified their movement in protest against L&T MD V B Gadgil's statement that the Metro would go through the original Sultan Bazar route (L& is constructing the Hyderabad Metro).

It may be recalled that the Sultan Bazar traders had earlier celebrated the statement of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao that the route would be changed. Upon learning that the route would not be changed after all, the traders have gone on the agitation path.
