Amos Slams Naidu Over Allegations

Congress MLC KR Amos asked TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu to substantiate the allegations he made against the Congress.
Hyderabad | 9th October 2010
Condemning the remarks of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu against the Congress during his tour in East Godavari district, Congress MLC KR Amos challenged the TDP chief, on Friday, to substantiate his allegations with proof.

Talking to media persons on CLP premises, Amos wondered how could Naidu, who he referred to as the 'Man Of Corruption', speak on the subject.

The Congress MLC charged that during the 9 years of TDP rule, corruption was rampant in the State. Amos added the allegations that the then government even went to the extent of bribing advocates to escape from the public wrath.

Amos stated that the TDP chief had no moral right to make allegations of corruption against Congress leaders in general and and YSR in particular, who he said implemented many welfare schemes for the benefit of poor and middle-class people.

"The Congress government has implemented all promises made in the election manifesto. That's why people voted for the party to come to power for the second term, rejecting the corrupt Naidu government," the MLC said.

Amos said that the people of the State were no longer in a position to believe TDP's cheap gimmicks, and asked Naidu to stop his baseless campaign against the Congress.

The MLC asked Naidu to act as a responsible Opposition leader. If Naidu did not stop his rhetoric, the Congress leaders would not remain mute spectators, Amos said.
