Danam Seeks Meeting With Antony Committee

The Centre needs to give more clarity on whether the city would be a Union Territory or the joint capital, and how it would function, he says.
Hyderabad | 16th August 2013
Labour Minister Danam Nagender, on Friday, asked PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana to arrange a separate meeting of leaders from Hyderabad with the Antony Committee on the state's bifurcation issue.

Talking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan here, Danam said that there was no clarity on the status of Hyderabad. "The Centre needs to give more clarity on whether the city would be a Union Territory or the joint capital, and how it would function. The ministers and legislators from the GHMC will meet the Antony Committee separately to discuss the issue," he said.

Danam, who is also the president of Greater Hyderabad Congress, refused to elaborate on what Congress leaders from the city would discuss with the Antony Committee. He said he would disclose the details only after the meeting. (INN)
