Girls outperformed boys in the SSC advanced supplementary examinations held in June, the results of which were announced by the officials on Saturday.
Releasing the results at the Secretariat, School Education Commissioner Shiv Shankar said that girls registered a pass percentage of 57.42, while the boys pass percentage was 51.85%.
He said that the overall pass percentage of students stood at 53.84%.
Compared to the June 2010 examinations, there was an increase of 10% in the number of students clearing the examinations this year, he pointed out.
The School Education Commissioner released the results due to absence of Secondary School Education Minister K Parthasarathy, who was supposed to have been at the event. (INN)
