While 478,955 or 87.96% of boys who appeared passed the exam, 461,969 or 89.33% of the girls who appeared, cleared it.
88.62% of students have passed the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations, the results of which were declared on Thursday.
Releasing the results to the State Secretary, the Advisor to the Governor Salahuddin Ahmed informed that out of the 10,61,703 non-private candidates who appeared for the exam, as many as 940,924 or 88.62% passed.
While 478,955 or 87.96% of boys who appeared passed the exam, 461,969 or 89.33% of the girls who appeared, cleared it.
There has been an increase of 0.54% in the pass percentage compared to last year.
A total of 12,15,391 students including 153,688 private candidates had appeared for the exams held in March. The pass percentage of private candidates this year is 45.57, compared to 45.50 last year.
This year 5,784 schools secured 100% results, while the figure was 4,326 in 2013 and 3,588 in 2012. These include 326 government, 1,613 Zilla Parishad, 11 municipal, 183 APREIS, 59 APSWREIS, 43 APTWREIS, 3,462 private and 87 aided schools.
Compared to the last two years, the pass percentage was higher in all the categories.
However, as compared to just 11 schools last year, this year as many as 77 schools secured 0% passes. They include 55 private, 14 government and 8 aided schools.
With 96.26%, East Godavari district had the highest pass percentage in the State, and Adilabad district secured the lowest percentage of 58.31%.
Among communities, OCs had the highest pass percentage of 90.71, followed by BCs with 89.44, STs with 85.46 and SCs with 84.66.
Salahuddin Ahmed said that the supplementary examinations would be held from the 16th of June to the 28th, from 9:30am to 12 noon. The last date of remittance of the examination fee by the candidates to the concerned heads of schools is May 30th. The last date of payment of the examination fee by the heads of schools in the Sub-Treasuries or at SBH/SBI branches is June 2nd.
The subject-wise performance statements (Grade sheets) will be given to all the candidates within 10 days to facilitate admission into 1st year intermediate without any difficulty. SSC certificates will be subsequently given to all the candidates who have passed. The list of failed candidates will be dispatched to the concerned schools by May 25.
The Governor's Advisor said that the results of a few candidates had been withheld for want of certain information from the school, camp or center. These cases will be finalised and their results will be released shortly, he said.
Candidates who desire to get their marks recounted should remit Rs. 500 per subject within 12 days from the date of publication of the results. This year, too, the system of re-verification of Answer Books in all subjects has been decentralised.
