Telangana Excise and Sports Minister V Srinivas Goud today visited the government hospital in Mahabubnagar for an inspection.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, "Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has focused on increasing the state's Covid-19 treatment facilities. Our government has ensured that all the hospitals have an adequate number of beds, and stocks of medical oxygen and injections. We have also constructed new hospitals to widen access to treatment facilities."
"KCR has agreed to construct a 600-bed facility at the Mahabubnagar district headquarters. He has also sanctioned a project for the modernisation of the existing mortuary. We are providing the best possible facilities to the state's hospitals to enable all Covid-19 patients to tide over the crisis, and our government hospitals are providing good treatment facilities to all. We are also alert about any malpractice or violations of stipulated rules - serious action will be taken against any private healthcare providers for overcharging or harassing patients in any way," Goud said.
The minister also highlighted the public's role in containing the pandemic's spread, and appealed to the people of the state to wear masks and maintain social distance when outside.
During his visit, Goud also inaugurated a respiratory support machine at the facility.
