Stating that the state government is committed towards women's welfare, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday launched the 'Srinidhi' scheme with a corpus fund of Rs. 1,000 crore.
Inaugurating the Rytu Mahila Sadassu at Pulla in Bhimadolu Mandal in West Godavari district, the Chief Minister said that AP's women populace get more loans than women in any other state in the country.
Stating that loans to the tune of Rs. 9,000 crore were sanctioned to women entrepreneurs, he said that these loans were specifically sanctioned to women as they were found to be more efficient compared to men, and also in order to prevent their misuse.
Regarding an issue of land rights, the CM clarified that a land owner would not lose his right on his land if his tenant farmer is sanctioned a loan for farming.
He also promised to construct more godowns in villages to store farm produce.
Kiran Kumar Reddy reiterated that the state government would fill 1.16 lakh posts in various departments by the end of this year. He also declared that the government would announce a new program in December to prevent corruption at all levels in public departments. (INN)
