The Deputy Speaker has advised Nagam Janardhan Reddy (TDP) to seek legal opinion on the High Court's stay order on making the Srikrishna Report's 8th chapter public.
Deputy Speaker Nadendla Manohar on Monday advised senior Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy to seek legal opinion on the state High Court's order passed on Monday before pressing for his demand of bringing a Privilege Motion against the Justice B N Srikrishna Committee members.
The Deputy Speaker told Janardhan Reddy that it would be better if both of them seek legal advice on the High Court's stay order on Justice L Narasimha Reddy's order to the Centre (which was passed on March 23rd 2011) to make the Srikrishna Committee Report public.
Earlier, Janardhan Reddy had called on Manohar, and had requested him to bring about a Privilege Motion against the Srikrishna Committee members, and had stated that the panel report, especially the 8th chapter of the report, was an attempt to deny the Telangana legislators their rights.
In response, Manohar had advised the TDP leader that that it would be better to take a decision - on bringing in a Privilege Motion against the Srikrishna Committee members - after studying the High Court's order thoroughly.
Speaking to media persons later at the Assembly media-point, Janardhan Reddy said that he had requested Manohar to find out on whose orders the Srikrishna Committee had submitted a report that was biased against the interests of the people of Telangana.
The senior TDP leader further said that the report had even suggested measures to the Centre on how to manipulate public opinion by using the media, and had also suggested the usage of weapons against anyone protesting for Telangana.
"The 8th chapter of the Srikrishna Report went to such lengths against the formation of a separate Telangana that it had recommended the weapons to be used against pro-Telangana demonstrators," Janardhan Reddy added. (INN)
