Telangana Nagara Samithi chairman and Nagarkurnool MLA Nagam Janardhan Reddy will launch his Telangana Bharosa Yatra on November 26.
Addressing a press conference, Nagam said that the yatra would begin on November 26 at Achampet in Mahabubnagar district, and conclude on December 6 in Hyderabad.
He said that the yatra was primarily aimed at sending a strong message to the youth of the region that they were not alone.
He is set to address over 80 meetings and interact with people across the 10 Telangana districts, over 11 days.
The Nagarkurnool MLA opined that only a sustained agitation with the support of all political parties is the way forward to "realise the dream of Telangana".
He said that it is sad that nearly 1,000 young people have sacrificed their lives so far without any reaction of any kind from the powers-that-be.
He cited the example of the death of Savita Halappanavar in Ireland, to point out how the government in that country had reacted, also referring to how the case received support from other countries.
Nagam said that he has been promised full support by almost all politicians and organisations that he contacted.
However, he said that he is yet to contact Telangana Rashtra Samithi leaders for their support. So far, he contacted the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Communist Party of India, apart from balladeer Gaddar and several representatives of people's organisations. (INN)
