Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal on Thursday hailed the recommendations and options offered by the Justice B N Srikrishna Commission in its
report.
Talking to media persons, the MP, who spearheaded the United Andhra Pradesh movement after the famous statement by Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on December 9, 2009, stated that the commission had given an impartial and bold report on the situation in the state.
"The recommendations in the commission's report are impartial and transparent. The report also pointed out ground realities where the state was lagging behind in development, and how it contributed for the separate statehood agitation," he said.
Hailing the committee recommendations, Rajagopal said the committee laid stress on the unification of state and their benefits.
The commission's report had tried to remove the sorrows of all Telugu people, and had stressed on the emotional attachment of Seemandhra people with Telangana region, the MP said.
The United Andhra protagonist said the commission rightly stressed on the importance of establishing Regional Boards to redress disparities, and developing areas based on the available resources.
