IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu today announced that a Blockchain City would be established in Telangana.
He disclosed that consultations with relevant industries and experts had already begun to determine the location and scale of the project.
The minister made these disclosures while formally inaugurating the new campus of Centillion Networks and HC Robotics Private Limited in Madhapur. The facility employs around 1,800 people in the fields of drone technology and robotics.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, "The State government is formulating and implementing plans to position Telangana as a leader in technological innovation. Steps are being taken to provide employment to the youth by offering training in these sectors through the Skills University and collaborations with industry. The foundation stone for the AI University in Future City will be laid soon. The government will also establish a Centre of Excellence dedicated to quantum computing."
"The Union government is planning to set up a Frontier Technology Hub in the country. The Telangana government has formally requested the Union government to establish the hub in Hyderabad, highlighting the city's strategic advantages. We hope the Centre will make a favourable decision in this regard," Babu added.
He also said that the State government was committed to delivering effective civil services to every citizen. To achieve this, efforts were underway to leverage emerging technologies such as AI and blockchain, the minister said.
The government was also working to create additional employment opportunities for the youth by providing specialized training in drone technology, which had become increasingly important, Babu said.
