The Telangana government faced another jolt in the Hyderabad High Court today when the court granted a stay on the GO No 7 issued on June 21 and ordered the state government to not have any sports quota in professional courses for one year.
Dealing with a petition filed by sportsmen Nileroy and Kaleshreya argued by advocate Rachana Reddy, the High Court directed the state government to lift the sports quota in professional courses.
Reddy informed the court that several irregularities had taken place after the issuance of GO No 7. Reacting on it, the Justice Ramasubrahmanyam bench delivered a verdict staying the GO.
