The South Central Railway apprehended a total of 376 persons during a special road check conducted at Uppal station on the Kazipet-Ramagundam section of the Secunderabad Division, on various express and passenger trains.
Of 376 people, as many as 246 persons were found travelling without tickets, 117 were found travelling irregularly, and 13 were cases of un-booked luggage.
These cases came to light during a drive conducted on May 16. A total amount of Rs. 1,46,155 was realized as fare and excess charge.
The check was conducted under the direct supervision of the Assistant Commercial Manager. 39 ticket-checking staff, 11 Government Railway Police (GRP) staff and 10 Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel, including a dog squad were involved in this check. (INN)
