Taking serious objection to the attitude of the Telangana Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary during the speech of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) alleged that the Speaker was not conducting the House proceedings in a fair and neutral manner.
Speaking at the Assembly media point on Sunday after the House was adjourned for the day, along with party MLAs T Jeevan Reddy, G Chinna Reddy, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, D K Aruna, P Rammohan Reddy and Sampath Kumar, TPCC chief and former minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister's arrogant attitude towards the senior members was dishonorable and condemnable.
He said that the Chief Minister's speech was not on the Motion Of Thanks on the Governor's speech but on irrigation.
He said that the Speaker had given a chance to the MIM to speak only on clarifications as against the tradition, and adjourned the House for the day.
Alleging that there was the Chief Minister's hand behind the conspiracy in hiking the estimate from Rs. 38,000 crores to Rs. 83,000 crores for the Pranahitha-Chevella project, Reddy said that the Pranahitha-Chevella and Palamuru-Rangareddy projects were not for the sake of the people but for the sake of the KCR family.
Alleging that the TRS government had mortgaged the State to Maharashtra, Jeevan Reddy said that the water would have been drawn through gravity in case the height of the project at Thammidihatti was 152 meters, but KCR had accepted the project at a height of 148 meters. Instead of answering the doubts of the Opposition, the Chief Minister was threatening the members in the House, he alleged. And instead of controlling the Chief Minister, the Speaker had adjourned the House abruptly, he pointed out.
"The development in the House is a black day for democracy," he said. Telangana State was not achieved for KCR to stay in his farmhouse, Jeevan Reddy remarked.
Another senior MLA Chinna Reddy alleged that the Chief Minister was behaving like a dictator in the House, and doubted whether this was a democracy. He alleged that the Speaker was not shielding the members when the Chief Minister was behaving irreverently in the House. Stating that the Speaker had the right to control the Chief Minister, he warned, "If he does not, we will show our strength in the coming days."
D K Aruna alleged that the Chief Minister was stooping to a low level in his speeches and was forgetting the stature of the post he held. She said that the Congress would not keep quiet if the Chief Minister wanted to turn Bangaru Telangana into "Matti Telangana".
