Social Media Better Than Mainstream Media: KTR

Hyderabad | 13th January 2020
TRS Working President cum IT Minister K T Rama Rao today said that the social media was better than the mainstream media.

Interacting with a team of TRS social media workers at Telangana Bhavan today, Rao said that they could give a far better counter through the various social media channels to the opposition parties that had been carrying out a misinformation campaign for long against the TRS government, than the leaders could through the newspapers and TV channels.

Claiming that the TRS had 16 lakh activists, he asked them to use the social media effectively to ensure a TRS win in the upcoming municipal elections.

"We have 11 lakh followers of our Facebook account and 3.6 lakh of our Twitter account. Through these, we can directly interact with the people," KTR said.

He also appreciated the social media team for voluntarily working for the TRS and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao right from the statehood movement.

"The BJP candidate had failed to even get his deposit back in the Huzurnagar by-election for making wrong comments on us, thanks to your effective use of the social media," he said.
