The Nampally Court on Tuesday paved the way for the arrest of film producer Singanamala Ramesh by rejecting his anticipatory bail petition.
Ramesh had sought bail fearing arrest after 3 cases were filed against him at CC Station by a financier and a music company owner. The complainants claimed that he had cheated them and had intimidated them when asked to return their money.
Financier Vijayanthi Reddy claimed that Ramesh had availed a loan of Rs. 9 crores from her and did not return it on time. She added that the film producer not only refused to pay her money back, but had tried to intimidate her by taking the help of Bhanu Kiran, who is the prime accused in the murder of Maddelacheruvu Suri.
The other 2 cases were filed by the owner of a music company who accused Ramesh of cheating him. The music company owner alleged that Ramesh had reneged on the agreement to give him the video rights for the film 'Komaram Puli', and audio rights of 'Khaleja'.
Fearing arrest, Ramesh had approached the court through his counsel and filed a petition before the Nampally court for anticipatory bail.
According to sources, the film producer claimed that the charges laid against him were false and fabricated.
Ramesh has been under intense scrutiny for his alleged links to the factionist, Bhanu Kiran, especially after Suri was killed.
