Activists of the Telangana Joint Action Committee on Friday organized a signature campaign against celebrating Andhra Pradesh Formation Day.
The activists took signatures of passersbys at the Dabeerpura flyover on a pledge that they would not participate in the celebrations.
The activists also attempted to make people aware of the deceit and cunning of the leaders from Seemandhra.
According to JAC Old City convenor Shahbaz Ali Khan, the state government's partial behavior in favour of people from Andhra had led the JAC to seek a boycott of the celebrations.
Shahbaz Ali Khan said that the people of Telangana had been deliberately neglected ever since the state of Andhra Pradesh was carved out from the Madras presidency.
Khan also charged successive State governments of going against the Gentleman's Agreement which was signed at the time of the formation of the State.
The JAC convenor stated that only those who forget the sacrifices of people from Telangana could celebrate the formation day.
