Popular actor Tamannaah Bhatia had to face an awkward situation recently when two shoes were hurled at her in succession during the inauguration of a jewelry showroom in Himayatnagar on Sunday.
The shoes however did not hit her, and hit a salesman of the company instead, who filed a police complaint leading to the arrest of the offender.
Reportedly, the incident occurred when a huge crowd of fans of the actress and onlookers gathered at the inauguration ceremony of the store. Bouncers drafted for the occasion were said to have pushed some people to control the surging crowd. Eye witnesses said that it was at this juncture that the shoes were hurled by a youth, now identified as Karimullah, a B Tech student.
While some bouncers immediately thrashed the boy, a couple of policemen rushed to the scene and took him away.
The offender was said to have told the police that he was a fan of the actress and that he regularly watched all her films, and that he had hurled the shoes as he was upset that the actress wasn't appearing in Telugu films nowadays.
