Founder-president of the YSR Telangana Party Y S Sharmila today alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was a traitor of Telangana, and that the CM had cheated the people each time after winning their trust in two consecutive elections.
Sharmila made these allegations while addressing a gathering after garlanding a portrait of the first martyr of the second phase of the Telangana statehood agitation Srikanth Chari at the Martyrs Memorial at Indira Park.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharmila termed the sacrifice of Chari as invaluable, and alleged that KCR had cheated the family of Chari.
She said that the CM had fielded the mother of Chari from an Assembly constituency where the TRS was weak, and had ignored her after her defeat by not giving her any nominated post.
She said that the same KCR had made his own daughter K Kavitha an MLC despite her defeat in the last Lok Sabha elections from the Nizamabad constituency.
Kavitha added that the State government had identified only 500 martyrs of the statehood movement although 12,000 people had lost their lives in the struggle, and that the State government had given Rs 10 lakh and a government job each to the families of only a couple of the identified martyrs.
