Union Minister for Tourism and Housing Kumari Selja, on Sunday, assured the state that the Centre would extend its full cooperation in tapping the tourism potential in Andhra Pradesh.
Kumari Selja told media persons that she hoped that the 24x7 information-cum-reservation centre she had inaugurated at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad would give a boost to tourism in the state.
She said the Centre would fully support the Andhra Pradesh government in the tourism sector.
Tourists had been availing information from the 24x7 centre since the airport began functioning in 2008, but the facility to make reservations at AP Tourism hotels or resorts from the centre was inaugurated on Sunday.
The state Tourism Development Corporation is planning to open similar centres at Visakhapatnam and Tirupati airports.
Union Minister of State for Textiles Panabaka Lakshmi, Information & Public Relations and Tourism Minister J Geetha Reddy also took part in the program.
