Shabbir Ali Asks Congress Leaders To Stop Fighting
The Leader of Opposition in the Telangana Legislative Council appealed to the Telangana Congress leaders to refrain from criticising each other in public.
Leader of Opposition in the Telangana Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir on Sunday appealed to the Telangana Congress leaders to refrain from criticising each other in public.
In a media statement, Shabbir Ali said that the Congress was a totally democratic party, and that each and every leader and worker had a right to express their views. However, no one was authorised to speak against others in public forums or through the media. He said that if any Congressman had any issues with the leadership, then they must raise those issues in Party forums and not go to the media with their list of allegations.
Shabbir Ali requested senior leaders including Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Sarve Satyanarayana and others to stop criticising the leadership through media. They could directly express their grievances before the Congress High Command if they were not happy or satisfied with anyone in the State, he said. By resorting to open criticism, they were causing more damage to the Party, he pointed out.
"Despite Congress president Sonia Gandhi giving statehood for Telangana, the Congress failed to win the last elections largely due to in-fighting. Instead of letting the situation deteriorate further, all Telangana Congress leaders should adopt a forgive-and-forget policy and work unitedly to bring Party back into power in the 2019 elections," he said.
