Congress MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy today said that there were several contenders for the post of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president, and that he too was one of the hopefuls.
He urged the party's high command to take the opinions of the party's MPs, MLAs and former public representatives into account before appointing the next chief, and asked them to choose a leader who would be able to foster cooperation within the party.
The post of the TPCC President has suddenly fallen vacant because N Uttam Kumar Reddy submitted his resignation to the AICC president after taking full responsibility for the Congress' underwhelming performance in the recent GHMC elections.
