The race for the post of the president of the TPCC has been raging on for some time now.
There are many speculations about who will be appointed as the successor of outgoing TPCC chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy, who
recently resigned from the post following
the Congress' dismal performance in the GHMC elections.
While many Congress leaders have expressed their interest in being appointed to the post, some reports indicate that MPs A Revanth Reddy and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy too are vying for the post.
According to reliable sources within the party, an overwhelmingly large number of Congress leaders have given their approval to either of the two MPs as chief during their one-on-one interactions with Telangana AICC head Manickam Tagore.
Tagore, who visited the state capital recently, had interacted with all the party leaders to discuss the appointment, including MLAs D Sridhar Babu, T Jagga Reddy and Jeevan Reddy, and MP Venkat Reddy, and gathered their views and opinions on a suitable replacement for Reddy.
The battered party hopes that it will find a chief who will be able to revive the Congress in the state, and will be able to take on the rival parties, the TRS and the BJP.
