Hyderabad | 28th April 2021
Veteran journalist Sridhar Dharmasanam, who worked as the Maa Hyderabad editor, a TV producer, and a director, passed away while undergoing treatment for Covid-19 at the TIMS, today.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, and several ministers expressed their shock and anguish at the well-known journalist's sudden demise.

They lauded him for his role and participation in the Telangana agitation, and mourned the "huge void in the state and the journalists' community" that the passing had left.

Finance Minister T Harish Rao, Agriculture minister, S Niranjan Reddy, Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar, and TSPC Deputy Chairman and former MP B Vinod Kumar were among those who conveyed their condolences to the bereaved family.

Harish said that he was pained at the death of the journalist who had devoted his life to serving his state, and thanked him, and every other journalist, for their "selfless and sincere services" to society even through the current health crisis

Eshwar too saluted journalists for risking their lives to bring news to society, and advised them to be cautious while discharging their duties.

Telangana Press Academy Chairman Allam Narayana expressed his shock as well, and lauded Sridhar for his service during the pandemic, and said, "He battled against Covid-19 and breathed his last at TIMS in Gachibowli. Efforts made by expert doctors in the hospital have gone futile. The death of Sridhar is a loss to the state and the void this has left cannot be filled."
