Senior BJP leader Tula Uma today rejoined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in the presence of the party's working president K T Rama Rao.
Speaking on the occasion, KTR slammed the BJP for insulting Uma, a woman and weaker section leader, by denying her the party ticket, and said that it was proof of the BJP's anti-BC and anti-women attitude.
He also reminded the people gathered, of her services as a senior woman leader since the days of the Telangana statehood movement.
Uma had started her political career with the TRS (now BRS), and had worked as the State president of the party's women's wing. She was also the Chairperson of the Karimnagar Zilla Parishad. She along with former minister and Huzurabad MLA Etala Rajender had left the party and joined the BJP in 2021. She decided to come back to the BRS when the BJP denied her the party ticket for the Vemulawada Assembly constituency.
Many other leaders are also joining the BRS. Under the leadership of Gattu Ramchander Rao, many leaders from the YSR Telangana Party also joined the BRS. At Telangana Bhavan, minister Harish Rao welcomed them into the party with pink scarves, and appreciated their decision to work with Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.
