In celebration of International Women's Day, a "Run For Action 2025" run was held at People's Plaza on Necklace Road today.

Minister for Panchayat Raj, Women and Child Welfare, Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), inaugurated the event as the chief guest.
In her address, she said that International Women's Day served as a reminder that there was no difference between men and women. She spoke about the importance of mental and physical strength for all individuals, and commended the police for their efforts in ensuring women's safety in Hyderabad.
Hyderabad Police Commissioner C V Anand lauded Seethakka's journey from humble beginnings to her current stature, portraying her as a symbol of perseverance. He also expressed pride in the increasing representation of women within the police force, noting that 8 out of 20 Deputy Commissioners of Police in Hyderabad were women. He also mentioned that 30% of the 18,000 police personnel in the Commissionerate were women, reflecting significant strides in gender inclusivity.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from over 5,000 individuals competing in 5K and 2K runs. Prizes were distributed to the winners, marking the conclusion of the event.
In related news, Seethakka has announced a massive public meeting to be held at the Parade Grounds in Secunderabad today, aiming to gather approximately 100,000 women to mark International Women's Day. During this event, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is expected to unveil the Indira Mahila Shakti Policy, introducing several new welfare schemes for women's empowerment.
