Congress leaders from Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema, on Saturday, urged Director General of Police Aravinda Rao to take action against all pro-Telangana activists who were indulging in 'vandalism'.
The Seemandhra leaders, under the leadership of Government Whip S Sailajanath, also submitted a memorandum to the DGP to this effect.
Saturday's meeting comes in the wake of the Seemandhra leaders' decision to adopt an assertive policy against Telangana activists.
The Seemandhra leaders had, on Friday, met Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, and
demanded protection for the people of different regions who have settled, or were visitors to, Telangana.
The Seemandhra leaders also urged Aravinda Rao to take positive steps to safeguard the lives and property of the people from the other regions.
Sailajanath told media persons that the DGP had assured the delegation of his full cooperation in providing protection to all the people of the State.
