Seemandhra Leaders Seek Protection

Seemandhra Leaders meet Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy and seek protection from Telangana violence.

Demanding protection for the lives of people coming from different regions, Seemandhra Congress leaders on Friday condemned the ransacking of High Court premises by Telangana advocates.

The Seemandhra leaders, under the leadership of Government whip S Sailajanath, met the Home Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy at the Secretariat seeking protection for the lives of people after convening a meeting at Assembly Hall.

The leaders urged the Minister to protect the lives of Seemandhra leaders in the wake of Telangana leaders resorting to physical attacks. They also brought the attack on convoy of Industries Minister Shilpa Mohan Reddy with eggs in Telangana region before the Minister.

The Minister assured the Seemandhra leaders of looking into the issue and initiate action against the instigators.

Later, the Seemandhra leaders met Information, Broadcasting and Public Relations Minister J Geetha Reddy and asked her to hold dialogue with all regional leaders before taking any decision on the implementation of 42% job quota for people from Telangana.

The leaders also sought action against Telangana Joint action committee leader Prof Kodandaram for making inflammatory speeches and provoking people.

The Minister assured the Seemandhra leaders that she would look into their demands.

Meanwhile, MLA Anam Vivekananda Reddy alleged that the Telangana leaders are resorting to blackmail tactics before the submission of the Srikrishna Commission report.

The MLA demanded the that the government should act according to the constitution against the agitating Telangana lawyers.
