SC Upholds Report On Division Of Power Employees

The Supreme Court today declined to set aside the Justice Dharmadhikari report on the division of the electricity employees between the two Telugu states.
Hyderabad | 24th January 2020
The Supreme Court today declined to set aside the Justice Dharmadhikari report on the division of the electricity employees between the two Telugu states.

Perusing a petition by Andhra Pradesh discom officials challenging the report, the apex court asked them to submit their objections to the committee in two weeks.

The court also asked the committee to speed up the case and respond to the objections.

The petitioner objected to the division of the employees mandated by the committee claiming that it was against the bifurcation norms. It also said that the division of employees did not take place in the 52 and 48 percent ratio, and that allocating 655 employees to AP would place a huge burden on the state.

Responding to this, the Telangana government's advocate said that the Telangana government had been paying them salaries for the past six years.

The employees are lamenting that the AP government is not taking them even after they have been relieved by the Telangana government.
