In a temporary relief to 1,258 electricity employees relieved by the Telangana government for Andhra nativity, the Hyderabad High Court today directed the two Telugu States to clear their pending salaries within four weeks.
Allowing a petition, the High Court directed the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments to pay the salaries in the 58% to 42% ratio within one month.
The court also turned down the appeal of the Telangana government for the vacation of the stay order on relieving the employees issued by a single judge.
It may be noted that the aggrieved employees had moved the court against the relieving orders of the Telangana government. A single judge bench had then stayed the relieving orders, and the file reached the disputes bench of the court.
The employees, who welcomed the verdict, stated that they would meet the Telangana electricity officials in this regard and would resume duties from Wednesday.
