Minister for Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan and Primary Education S Shailajanath, who is on the cabinet sub-committee for categorisation, said that the government was ready to lead a delegation to New Delhi over the SC categorization issue.
Speaking to media persons at the state Secretariat on Tuesday, Shailajanath said that the government had
appealed to Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi president Manda Krishna Madiga to call off his stir as the government was ready to lead a delegation to New Delhi as desired.
The minister said that the categorisation of SCs was very much on its agenda, and also in the Congress party manifesto.
The government was also committed to the categorisation, but it would take some time as constitutional and legal problems were bound to arise.
Shailajanath stated that Krishna Madiga must also understand that it was not that easy to get the appointment of top leaders who were preoccupied with current problems.
Asked about Jaganmohan Reddy quitting the party, the minister said that it was unfortunate. "We will welcome him back even now," he said.
