The Apollo Hospitals boss went door to door promoting her husband Konda Vishweshwar Reddy's candidature for the Chevella Lok Sabha constituency.
Sangita Reddy, Executive Director, Apollo Hospitals, participated in her "Inti Intiki Thoranam" campaign to promote the candidature of her husband Konda Vishweshwar Reddy for the Chevella Lok Sabha constituency, at M A Nagar, Miyapur, on Sunday.
As part of the campaign, Ms. Reddy went door to door, met people, and spoke to them.
Over 200 workers from various parties joined the TRS in her presence on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, she said that "Inti Intiki Thoranam" had received a good response, and the people felt good about someone coming to their doorstep and wishing them well.
She said that the Telangana struggle was primarily about the development of the region, and therefore it was just the beginning. The TRS would bring in progress, and Hyderabad and Telangana would rank among the best, she added.
The condition of roads, drainages, drinking water and other civic facilities was appalling, mosquito breeding was rampant, and the demands of the people were that these basic infrastructure and facilities should be in place, she said.
Today the youth were better educated, but there were no jobs matching their qualifications, and the youngsters are left unemployed, depressing them and their families, she added.
She said that Vishweshwar Reddy joined politics to improve the lot of the people of Telangana. He was happy with his professional and personal accomplishments, but was saddened by the plight of the people in Telangana, and that's when he started an NGO - Telangana Progressive Forum - and was working towards developing employable skills of the Telangana youth.
It was KCR who convinced Reddy to get into politics to multiply his efforts and reach out to more people, she said. Reddy had adopted a meticulous approach to solving the problems of the people. He was visiting villages and recording the deficiencies and difficulties people were facing, as part of "Voices for Vish". People could also send their grievances through video recordings, emails and SMS. He will document the grievances and display all of them on a website, create a unified plan, and set up a separate secretariat to monitor the plan's implementation and seek feedback from the beneficiaries.
Reddy's objective was to make Chevella a model constituency, she said.
Sangeetha Reddy said Vishweshwar Reddy was for value-based and clean politics with abundant commitment to the people of his constituency. She appealed to the voters to vote for TRS candidates for both MPs and MLAs, so that there can be better co-ordination and team work to solve their problems.
TRS students' wing president Sairam Goud, Uday, Suhas Goud, Raju, Ashok and other TRS leaders were present on the occasion. (INN)
