Sandeep Kumar Sultania, an IAS officer from the 1998 batch, has been appointed as the Principal Finance Secretary of Telangana.
The State government issued an order to this effect on Monday.
Sultania succeeds K Ramakrishna Rao, the former Special Chief Secretary of Finance, who became the State's Chief Secretary on April 30 following the retirement of A Santhi Kumari.
Sultania has held several significant roles so far, including Principal Secretary in the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj department, Secretary to the Chief Minister, and multiple senior positions in finance, transport, cooperatives and tourism. He has much experience in rural development, land revenue management and urban development. Currently, he serves as the Principal Secretary of the Planning Department.
On the occasion, Sultania paid a courtesy call to Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and thanked him for being appointed as the Principal Finance Secretary of Telangana.
