The Seemandhra Advocates JAC on Friday demanded that the Congress-led UPA government withdraw its decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.
Participating in a dharna at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, the JAC leaders said that the decision to carve out Telangana from AP was not in the interest of any region of Andhra Pradesh.
They said that the division was aimed at helping the Congress reap political benefits, and that it would harm the Telugu people in the long run. They demanded that the Centre stop the process of Telangana formation, and completely drop the proposal to bifurcate the state.
The Advocates JAC leaders also decided to seek support from other national parties in keeping the state united. They appealed to leaders of all political parties in the state to unite for the cause of Samaikyandhra. (INN)
