Saira Banu and Jyotilakshmi, who were released on bail in connection with the
prostitution racket in the city, on Monday evening, stated they are the victims of a scam and are in no way connected to the incident.
Talking to reporters, Jyoti said that she had gone to the apartment following a call by assistant director Chandu in connection with a film offer.
According to her, the media, without bothering to go into facts, carried a news report accusing her in the scam.
She asked the media to act in a responsible manner instead of increasing TRP ratings.
"I am ready to undergo medical tests in connection to prove my innocence. I have no connection with the racket. Some media people want to tarnish my image and have targeted me," she said.
Saira Banu and Jyoti were released on bail by the Nampally Court, and the other 7 accused were sentenced to remand of 14 days.
The court granted them bail as the two were seen as 'victims' rather than perpetrators of the crime.
