Hyderabad Police Commissioner A K Khan, on Tuesday, said that the police have enough audio and visual evidence against those
arrested for immoral trafficking early on Monday.
The police chief denied allegations that the police were systematically targeting the Telugu film industry, and said that the recent raids were part of the efforts to cleanse the city of crime.
Khan said that if the Movie Artistes Association had any doubts over the veracity of the police claims of the involvement of high profile personalities from the Telugu film industry, any member of MAA can come forward and view the evidence.
Speaking to the gathering after inaugurating a new Cyber Crime Police Station at Nampally, Khan vowed that action would be taken against anyone who violates the Law, however high or mighty the accused might be. He also denied a deliberate targeting of people from the Telugu film industry.
Khan said that the police department does not work on the concept of 'revenge', and that it does not conduct 'revenge' raids.
Speaking about the new Cyber Crime Station, Khan said that the station, set up in the Central Crime Station wing, will register complaints and investigate cases pertaining to cyber crimes.
He said that Umamaheshwara Rao has been appointed the Inspector for the new police station.
The Cyber Crime cell of the detective department currently assists law and order agencies in investigating cyber crimes, and the new station was seen necessary to ease the burden on the DD.
Khan revealed that 35 complaints regarding cyber crimes were received by the police since June this year.
