Leaders of The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) demanded that the State government dismiss Power Minister G Jagadish Reddy from the Cabinet on the charges of involvement in an employment scam, and alleged that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao were shielding corrupt ministers and TRS members.
Speaking to the media at Gandhi Bhavan on Tuesday, TPCC leaders Addanki Dayakar, Bellaiah Naik and Sudhakar Goud alleged that Jagadish Reddy was involved in an employement scam in Suryapet. They claimed that Reddy's acquaintance and TRS MLA Eduluri Santhosh collected over Rs. 60 lakhs from unemployed people with the support of the Minister.
The TRS leaders were scamming unemployed youth and students by giving them fake jobs, they claimed. They also alleged that irregularities took place in Yadadri Power Plant recruitment.
Refuting TRS MLC Karne Prabhakar's claim that Reddy had no nexus with Santhosh, the Congress leaders said that they had irrefutable evidence to substantiate their charges, and produced a few photos as evidence.
They also accused the Chief Minister of protecting Jagdish Reddy instead of initiating action against him. They demanded Reddy's dismissal from the Cabinet and an inquiry into the "scam".
