Transport Minister P Mahender Reddy on Thursday declared that the government would increase the RTC bus fares.
Speaking to the media at Bus Bhavan after releasing the TSRTC logo on Thursday, Mahender Reddy revealed that the RTC would be bifurcated from May 28.
He said that the assets of the RTC located in Telangana belonged to Telangana only, and any APSRTC buses that entered Telangana needed to pay entry tax.
Speaking on the TSRTC logo, the minister said that artist Gnaneshwar had prepared the logo, which reflected the Telangana culture and traditions.
The logo has Kakatiya "Kala Thoranam" and Charminar, and the words "Pragathi Ratham, Prajala Nestham" in the round frame.
Gnaneshwar said that the yellow color reflected the dreams of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for a "Bangaru Telangana", and the green color reflected KCR's aim of a "Green Telangana". (NSS)
