Rs. 1000 Crore For Roads

The goverment has sanctioned Rs. 1000 crore for building roads in Naxal-hit areas in Andhra Pradesh.

Reiterating that the government would take all measures for upgrading roads and bridges in the Maoist-hit areas by spending Rs. 1,607 crore, Roads And Buildings minister Galla Aruna Kumari on Sunday disclosed that the government had allocated Rs. 1,000 crore for construction of roads in Medak district.

Talking to media persons after disbursing financial assistance to poor students of Arya Vysya community at a program in Tirupati, Aruna Kumari said that the government had already taken up works on roads and bridges in Naxal-influenced areas.

The Centre had promised to assist all help to the State in eradicating the Naxal menace from the State, Aruna pointed out.

The minister disbursed financial help to the tune of Rs. 2.80 crore to 400 poor students of Arya Vysya community hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu states.
