The ruling YSR Congress Party today introduced the annual budget for the state in the Assembly for the financial year 2020-21.
Finance minister B Rajendranath Reddy introduced the budget in the Assembly, and the Deputy Chief Minister Pilli Subash Chandrabose introduced it in the Legislative Council.
Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said that the annual budget had come down by 1.4% compared to the last year due to the impact of the coronavirus in the state.
He said that the budget had been fixed at Rs 2,24,789.19 crore. Of this the revenue expenditure was estimated at Rs 1,80,392.65 crore, and the capital expenditure including loan repayments and other capital disbursements at around Rs 44,396.54 crore.
Reddy said that the estimated revenue deficit was Rs 18,434.14 crore and the fiscal deficit was Rs 48,295.58 crore. The fiscal deficit would be 4.78% of the GSDP and the revenue deficit around 1.82% of the GSDP, he said.
The revised estimates of the state government stood at Rs 1,37,518.49 crore for the financial year 2019-20, and the capital expenditure stood at Rs 12,845.49 crore.
