Chief Minister K Rosaiah on Tuesday denied that he had met Congress president Sonia Gandhi during his visit to 10 Janpath.
Rosaiah stated that he had met Party In-Charge for Andhra Pradesh Affairs Veerappa Moily. Incidentally,Moily heads the party Disciplinary Committee.
Talking to media persons, Rosaiah stated that the reason for his visit to the national capital was not to lodge a complaint against Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy or his media house Sakshi over the airing of a controversial program, but official work.
The Chief Minister added that there was no need to visit New Delhi just to lodge a complaint.
Responding to a question, the Chief Minister said that he had no interest in expanding his ministry cabinet at the moment.
Earlier, he had met Union Defence Minister A K Antony, and then a delegation of MPs from Telangana headed by Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar.
The Chief Minister also met Union Home Minister P Chidambaram and urged him to find a solution to the free zone issue as soon as possible. According to sources, Chidambaram reassured Rosaiah that he would look into the matter.
Rosaiah's meeting with the Congress leaders comes in the wake of a controversy over programs telecast on Sakshi TV, owned by Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy, launching a full-fledged attack on the Congress leadership, including Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, claiming that their popularity was on the wane.
When asked about any disciplinary action that would be taken against the Kadapa MP, Rosaiah stated that the High Command would handle Jaganmohan Reddy. He also added that he had not received any instruction about any possible action on the issue yet.
