Former Road Transport Corporation chairman and senior Congress leader Gone Prakash Rao on Thursday found fault with Chief Minister K Rosaiah for stating that ministers, who were interested in Andhra Pradesh Formation Day celebrations on November 1st, could participate in the event.
Talking to media persons at the CLP media point, Prakash Rao said that the Chief Minister's statement will send wrong signals to the people of the State. He added that the statement had also brought disrepute to the party for issuing such confusing statements.
The Congress leader asked the Chief Minister to make it mandatory for the ministers to participate in the formation day celebrations.
Rao opined that the Chief Minister should submit his resignation if he failed to issue orders making it incumbent on the ministers to participate in the celebrations.
Rosaiah had left the choice of participating in the celebrations to the ministers by saying that participation was voluntary and no one could be forced to participate in the event.
The Chief Minister had then made a collective decision that it was their responsibility towards the State to participate in the celebrations.
