Former YSR Congress Party MLA Gone Prakash Rao today made some sensational comments about the Chief Ministers of the two Telugu states.
Targeting Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and his counterpart in Andhra Pradesh, Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, he claimed that the two leaders would surely be arrested if the BJP-led Centre really wanted to send the two to jail.
Referring to the issue of the cancellation of Jagan's bail, Rao said that the cancellation would indeed mean that the CM would land up behind bars. He added that two cases filed against CM KCR by the Enforcement Directorate were still pending.
Further, in a continuation of his attack on the AP CM, he claimed that a book authored by an aide of the CM's father, former AP CM Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, had a factual error on page 172, and asserted that Jagan had never taken part in YSR's Hyderabad padayatra as the book claimed. YSR had been accompanied by leaders including Ambati Rambabu, Lagadapati Rajagopal, Bhumana Karunakar Reddy and Sudheer Reddy he clarified.
(This is not the first time that the former MLA has called Jagan out. He had previously accused the leader of being a "heartless" person who could not "bear others praising his own father".)
The leader then asserted that he would not shirk from making the same comments on any forum and that he would eventually expose all the leaders of the two states.
He also made some comments about Section 124 (A) of the IPC, which is the sedition law, and said that there was no need for the same in the country, while noting that the entire section was a "relic of the colonial era".
(The law, derived from the British Sedition Act of 1661, was added to the IPC in 1870.)
