Differences between TPCC president Revanth Reddy and MP Uttam Kumar Reddy, the ex-TPCC president, came to the fore once again, this time over the planning of unemployed youths' protest programs and the public meeting for them, in the State.
When Revanth Reddy announced that the public meeting would be held in the Mahatma Gandhi University grounds in Nalgonda on April 21, Nalgonda MP Uttam Kumar Reddy took serious exception to the TPCC chief announcing the meeting without consulting him.
An irate Uttam Kumar Reddy reportedly complained to the State party affairs incharge Manikrao Thakre against Revanth Reddy's "irresponsible" decision-making, announcing the party's programs without consulting the senior leaders of the party.
Incidentally, senior leader K Jana Reddy's son Raghuveer Reddy was present in the April 18 media conference.
Anti-Revanth Reddy groups have been assailing the TPCC president for a while now for taking "unilateral decisions" on the party's affairs and programs. Some senior Congress leaders also kept their distance from him during the recent public meeting at Mancherial.
Revanth Reddy's relations with Nalgonda district leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy are already less than cordial. Now, the differences between Revanth Reddy and Uttam Kumar Reddy have become a hot topic in the party circles and among the public. Some senior Congress leaders are expressing concern over the infighting between the top leaders on the eve of arrival of Priyanka Gandhi in Hyderabad either on May 4 or 5.
