Telangana TDP president L Ramana today said that party supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had ordered that the recalcitrant Revanth Reddy, who is the party's working president for Telangana and its floor leader in the Assembly, should be treated as only a party MLA.
Ramana said that Naidu, who is in London, had informed him about this on the phone.
Ramana also said that a TDLP meeting would be held tomorrow at 1 pm in Hotel Golkonda, and Revanth Reddy would be called as only an MLA.
He said the party supremo had called him and sought information about Reddy. Naidu then told Ramana that he would take a decision on Reddy after his return from his foreign tour. However, the party high command was keeping an eye on every development in the party, Ramana was assured.
Separately, a press release from the TDP office also said that Chandrababu Naidu had given his consent to the suggestion of Ramana that Reddy should not continue as working president of the party and as the Telangana TDLP leader. This was after Ramana had held a meeting with senior party leaders on the affairs of Reddy and submitted a final report to the party's central committee. In that, the TTDP leaders had urged the party national president to take immediate action against Revanth Reddy as he was hobnobbing with the Congress leaders.
