Chief Minister Revanth Reddy today expressed deep shock over the horrific accident involving a bus carrying Indian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia.
The accident occurred while the bus was travelling from Mecca to Madinah. Media reports said that people from Hyderabad were also among the passengers.
In a quick response, the Chief Minister instructed Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao and DGP Ravi Gupta to gather the details of the victims involved in the accident, specifically on the number of people from Telangana travelling on the bus.
The officials were also directed to contact the Ministry of External Affairs and the Saudi embassy to initiate immediate relief measures.
Following his instructions, the Chief Secretary alerted Resident Commissioner Gaurav Uppal in Delhi and directed him to collect details of the Telangana residents affected in the crash.
