The Special Court for ACB Cases today extended the judicial custody of Telangana TDP MLA Revanth Reddy and his accomplices by 14 more days.
They will be thus continue to be in judicial custody till June 29.
Earlier, the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau had filed a petition in the court seeking extension of judicial custody of the trio in the notorious "note-for-vote" case.
In its memo, the investigating agency submitted to the court that it needed more time to gather more information in the case - including the source of the Rs. 50 lakhs used to attempt bribing nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson. The ACB urged the special court to extend the judicial remand of Revanth Reddy also because it had to record the statement of the complainant and nominated MLA Stephenson in the case.
The ACB also informed the court that the probe into the case was at a crucial stage, and that some influential persons were the brains behind the case. (NSS)
