Telangana Congress leaders, who were in Delhi pitching for a separate Telangana state, have returned to Hyderabad.
Jana Reddy, Madhu Yaskhi and K Kesava Rao were some of the lawmakers who were in the delegation that met the Congress High Command in New Delhi. They all returned to a boisterous crowd in the airport back home in Hyderabad, to the sound of raucous drumbeats.
They all said they would not go back on their resignations until a separate Telangana was achieved.
In fact, senior leader K Kesava Rao even said that they would not go back to New Delhi until the Congress High Command and the Centre offered them a solution.
The group of leaders went to Jana Reddy's residence from the airport, where discussions were held.
The leaders, who included MPs and MLAs, had resigned from their posts to show their support for a separate Telangana, a move hailed by Telangana activists who finally saw some concrete political support coming their way.
However, the Speakers of the Lok Sabha and the Assembly have not yet accepted the resignations submitted to them. The official process of accepting resignations, which includes one-to-one meetings with the leaders, is likely to take several months.
