The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) chief veterinary officer today informed that the Director, National Research Centre on Meat (NRC-M), Chengicherla, had certified that the raw meat samples collected from the Shah Ghouse Hotel & Restaurant, Gachibowli, on December 13, was sheep meat and not dog.
The GHMC officer recalled the rumours on social media that the hotel served dog meat in guise of mutton. GHMC officials immediately inspected the Hotel on December 13, 2016, collected raw mutton samples, and sent the same to the NRC-M for analysis.
Accordingly, the research center reported that the meat sample given to it was only that of sheep.
